Fort Baker to Emeryville
Sunday, July 27
The second race in the 2008 WaveChaser Summer Downwind Series is Sunday, July 27. This point-to-point race starts from Fort Baker at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge, heads under the bridge toward Point Diablo, and then turns around for the long downwind run to Emeryville. The course takes advantage of very consistent summer afternoon winds and is arguably the best downwind run in the Bay Area.
Registration is at the start area and will be open until 30 minutes prior to the first start time. Paddlers will be ceded into one of the two start times (1:10pm and 1:30pm). Lunch will be served at the finish.
Unlike our Winter Series races where we offer a variety of courses for all ability levels, our Summer Series only has the long course. Entrants should have the appropriate level of experience. Paddlers must wear their PFD and leash use is required.
