The first race in the 2008 WaveChaser Summer Downwind Series is Sunday. This race is from the marina at Coyote Point Park in San Mateo to Bair Island Aquatic Center in Redwood City. This course takes advantage of very constant summer afternoon winds, and is the most popular downwind run in the Bay Area.

Registration is at the start area and will be open until 30 minutes prior to the first start time. Paddlers will be ceded into one of the two start times (3:00pm and 3:30pm). A BBQ will be held at the finish.

Unlike our Winter Series races where we offer a variety of courses for all ability levels, our Summer Series only has the long course. Entrants should have the appropriate level of experience. Paddlers must wear their PFD and leash use is required.

There is road construction at the Coyote Point exit off of highway 101. Detour routes have been changing daily, so you should allow extra time. A $5 per car entrance fee is required at Coyote Point for those without an annual pass.
